This Canadian martial artist and stuntwoman was born as Samantha Tjhia on march 29, 1991 in Barrie (Ontario). She is member of a Chinese/Canadian family who married is with stuntman Allen Jo. The couple live currently together in Los Angeles.
She is trained in martial arts since she was four years old, because her mother was a black belt in jiu jitsu. She began with jiu jitsu before she started with wushu and tai chi when she was twelve years old.
She placed herself as one of Wushu's best female athletes, who was student at the Sunny Tang Martial Arts Center in Toronto. She was member of the Newmarket based Team Ryouko Martial Arts performance team who also features performers such as Ilan Rosenberg, Chris Mark and Jeff Ong. She was member of the Canadian National Wushu Team, who competes at international wushu tournaments in 2007-2008.
She won a bronze medal at the 2007 World Wushu Championships in Beijing, which qualified her for the Olympic Tournament. She ended as eighth in women's nanquan & nandao competion at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
She made her action movie debut as Car-Vex in this story where Clark Kent (played by Henry Cavill) is one of the last of an extinguished race, who is disguised as an unremarkable human in ''Man of Steel'' (2013). He's forced to reveal his identity when earth is invaded by an army of survivors, who threaten to bring the planet to the brink of destruction.
She plays Kitana in six episodes of the action TV Series ''Mortal Kombat'' (2011-2013) and played Juju in two episodes of the action TV Series ''Agent X'' (2015).
She plays Amelie in this story about Geisha Hero (played by Alyssa Veniece) who fights against an organized crime syndicate with help of mysterious martial arts master Kai Forrester (played by Natalie Martinez) in ''Warrior'' (2015).
